Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Autumn 2025 Update

As of Autumn 2025 semester, WOW has a waitlist for new student volunteers. While we wish we could offer volunteer spots to every interested student, WOW has a limited capacity and need. If you are still interested please complete the New Volunteer Interest Survey  and you will be contacted when the next semester's scheduling survey is released.

The WOW Program is made possible with the help from over 70 volunteers made up of Ohio State undergraduates students (WOW scholars,) and affiliate organization employees. WOW scholars can be any student from any science or engineering major, the only requirement is to have an interest in teaching elementary students science concepts!

About half of the OSU volunteers who participate in our program are Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship recipients of the Ohio House of Science and Engineering. These COF Scholars take part in WOW to complete their 30-45 hours of service outreach per semester.
