Meet the WOW Team

The Wonders of Our World Program (WOW) is made possible by the WOW team who work year-round to create the best outreach program possible! This team works together to create and evaluate experiments that fit within the state science standards for elementary classrooms, in addition to training volunteers and educators on how to replicate these experiments in the classroom.

WOW Program Coordinator: Nathan

Joining the WOW program in November of 2022, Nathan graduated from The Ohio State University in 2021 earning his B.S. in Zoology with a minor in Education.  Prior to leading the WOW program, Nathan's experiences ranged from working in Ohio State Parks to leading programming with the National Audubon Society, his background is primarily in outdoor/environmental education. Outside of WOW, some of Nathan's favorite activities include spending time with his dog Henderson and exploring the National Parks with his fiancé Brock. Nathan's favorite WOW unit is Ecology, and he looks forward to being able to bring science to more students in the coming years!

WOW Student Assistant: Cassidy

In her 3rd semester with WOW, Cassidy joined the program in January 2023 as a first year OSU student. Cassidy is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Education at OSU. After undergrad, she hopes to continue working with students as a school psychologist. In addition to WOW, Cassidy is also a member of College Mentors for Kids, PenPals, and is a research assistant at The Crane Center for Early Childhood Education and Policy. Her favorite part of WOW is working with the students and seeing the impact the program has on their education.

WOW Student Assistant: Megan

Megan joined the Wonders of Our World program in September of 2023. Megan is currently a sophomore studying Health Sciences with a Studio Art minor on track to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. Prior to joining WOW, Megan worked as a manager at Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, serving and making ice cream! Outside of WOW she likes hanging out with friends, listening to music, getting coffee, and looking at pictures of her cats. Megan’s favorite part about WOW is being able to interact with the kids and teach them science!
